Check your agent setup
Paste or drop the files that tell your coding agents what to do. See which ones each agent actually loads, what's broken, and anything that looks planted or hidden.
Runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and the page makes no network requests while it checks. Your files never leave your device.
Drop files or a whole project folder here
From a folder we read only agent files: instructions, rules, skills, hooks, MCP configs and the scripts hooks run. Up to 400 files, 256 KB each.
Or paste a file
- No files yet.
What it checks
- What loads where. For Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Antigravity CLI, GitHub Copilot: which files each one reads, when, and which it ignores.
- Problems. Cursor rules with broken front matter, skills missing a description, CLAUDE.md files that hide your AGENTS.md, hooks that let actions through when they fail or point at missing scripts, MCP servers that run unpinned packages or downloaded scripts, and secrets in config.
- Planted or hidden instructions. Invisible Unicode, HTML comments aimed at the agent, text pushed out of view with blank lines, base64 that decodes to commands, "ignore previous instructions" and "don't tell the user" wording, instructions to fetch and run code, and agent files sitting in Downloads.
Facts about each agent were last checked against their docs on 29 October 2026.
About the checker
Is anything uploaded?
No. The checker runs entirely in your browser. Your files are read on your device, nothing is sent to SetupBay or anyone else, and the page makes no network requests while it checks. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
Which agents does it cover?
Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Antigravity CLI, GitHub Copilot. What each one loads comes from its own documentation, last read on 29 October 2026, and every line links the doc it came from.
Does Claude Code read AGENTS.md?
Yes, since v2.1.277, but only when there is no CLAUDE.md, .claude/CLAUDE.md or CLAUDE.local.md in the folder you start it in or above. If there is one, Claude Code reads that instead, unless it imports AGENTS.md with an @AGENTS.md line or you set Project instructions to claude-md-and-agents-md in /config.
What counts as a planted instruction?
An instruction file you didn't write that tells an agent to install something, change its own config, fetch and run code or keep quiet about it, or text hidden from people reading the file: invisible Unicode, HTML comments, long blank padding or base64. Files in Downloads, Desktop or temp folders are the usual way in, because browsers and chat apps can save there without asking.
Is a clean result a guarantee?
No. The checker matches known patterns and reads configs; it doesn't run anything, so it can't see what a script or MCP server does once it starts. Treat it as a second pair of eyes, and still read files you didn't write.
